Colloidal silver products are commonly described by their concentration in PPM, or parts per million. Understanding PPM makes it much easier to compare products and determine how much silver is actually present in a bottle.
What Does PPM Mean?
PPM stands for parts per million.
For colloidal silver in water, PPM is commonly used to express the concentration of silver in the solution. A higher PPM number represents a greater concentration of silver.
- 500 PPM is more concentrated than 100 PPM.
- 1,000 PPM is twice the concentration of 500 PPM.
- 5,000 PPM is five times the concentration of 1,000 PPM.
- 10,000 PPM is twice the concentration of 5,000 PPM.
Ultra Silver Concentrations
Ultra Silver specializes in highly concentrated colloidal silver and currently offers four concentration levels:
500 PPM
Our lowest concentration and still substantially more concentrated than many conventional colloidal silver products.
1,000 PPM
Twice the silver concentration of our 500 PPM formulation.
5,000 PPM
A highly concentrated formulation containing five times the concentration of our 1,000 PPM product.
10,000 PPM
Our highest concentration, containing twice the concentration of our 5,000 PPM formulation.
Concentration and Bottle Size Are Different
PPM tells you the concentration of silver. Bottle size tells you the volume of liquid. These are separate measurements.
For example, an 8 oz bottle of 1,000 PPM Ultra Silver has the same concentration as a 32 oz bottle of 1,000 PPM Ultra Silver. The larger bottle simply contains more of the same concentration.
Why Does Concentrated Colloidal Silver Have Color?
Ultra Silver has a characteristic amber-to-dark-brown appearance.
As concentration increases, the product can become progressively darker. This appearance is different from many clear or nearly clear low-concentration silver solutions.
Color alone, however, should not be used to determine the exact concentration of a product. That's why laboratory testing matters.
Independently Tested
Ultra Silver uses independent laboratory testing to verify product concentration and provide customers with objective information about what they're purchasing.
