Frequently Questions

CAN A TDS METER MEASURE PPM (Parts Per Million)?

True colloidal silver PPM or parts per million can not be tested or measured with a TDS meter which measures only total dissolved particles, not suspended particles. Each batch of our Ultra Silver is tested by an independent lab to verify the concentration or PPM. Many folks have been deceived by this misinformation. We guarantee the PPM to be at least what the label states. It takes some expensive equipment to do this testing. Our lab results are listed on our product page.

We openly share those PPM results for every concentration level of Ultra Silver. TDS meters are simply not capable of determining the total silver content of colloidal silver. TDS meters actually use electrical conductivity to determine total dissolved solids in a liquid. This measurement will only respond to the ions in the sample and not silver particles. Since Ultra Silver is a true colloidal silver and not an ionic silver this reading will be inaccurate.

WHAT IS A COLLOID?

Colloids occur widely in nature.  Your body’s cells exist in a complex colloidal state.  A colloid is a state of matter in which one substance is finely dispersed in another.  The dispersed component has a very large surface area related to its volume.

WHY IS ULTRA SILVER COLORED?

Ultra Silver begins at 500 PPM while most colloidal silver products on the market are 5-20 PPM. That makes Ultra Silver 500 PPM up to 100 times more concentrated. The more concentrated the PPM, the darker it will appear. At 500 PPM it is a golden amber while the 10,000 PPM is very dark. This is the natural color of a true colloidal silver.

WHAT IS NANO SILVER?

This is a reference to the size of the silver particles. Ultra Silver is a true nano size colloidal silver with an average particle size of 35.2 nanometers.

WHAT IS AN IONIC SILVER?

Ionic silver is produced using electrolysis with water, some wire and a battery. Many products being sold as colloidal silver are actually ionic silver. There are some benefits to ionic silver, but it is not the same as colloidal silver. You would be able to make your own ionic silver at home with a colloidal silver generator which is nothing more than an electrolysis machine.

WHY IS THERE PROTEIN?

The reason Ultra Silver contains protein is two fold.  First of all a protein binder prevents any settling out over time creating an almost indefinite shelf life. Ultra Silver is unaffected by freezing or long term storage in cool protected environments.

Secondly, protein is easily assimilated by the body when taken internally thus enhancing the positive benefit of silver. This enables Ultra Silver to be very bio-available and more effective than other products.

WHAT IS A SILVER ION?

Silver ions are silver atoms which have an electron missing in the outer shell. Therefore, they have an inherent charge and are not as stable as particles.
